What is aerogel?

Aerogel is an advanced material originally developed for aerospace applications and has been widely used in NASA space exploration missions.

Its nanostructure, composed of over 90% air, significantly inhibits heat transfer, forming an ultra-light and highly efficient thermal barrier, delivering exceptional insulation performance at an extremely low weight. This unique thermodynamic structure makes aerogel an ideal breakthrough solution for next-generation cold-weather apparel designed for extreme environments.

How do we use aerogel in clothing insulation?

Because aerogel has a density close to air and is extremely fragile, it is inherently difficult to process. After years of research and repeated testing, we successfully integrated aerogel into fibers—preserving its structural integrity and outstanding thermal performance. This breakthrough has enabled aerogel to achieve true large-scale application in the apparel industry.

Using aerogel fibers as the core material, we experimented with various functional synthetic fiber mixtures. Through non-woven textile production process, the loose fibers are aligned and evenly distributed into a uniform web. This is followed by hot-air bonding and reinforcement, allowing different fibers to intertwine and interlock. The result is a structured aerogel insulation padding with uniform structure, stable loft, and layered heat-locking performance.

Our Production Process

With a precise blend of aerogel fibers and multi-component fibers, we go through opening & blending, carding & web forming, and nonwoven consolidation to produce evenly structured, warmth-locking aerogel thermal padding.
